Tiger Shark Competitive Swim Team Information

The BYAC is the first step to becoming a Tiger Shark Swim Team member. The Tiger Shark Swim Team participates in the Carolina YMCA Swim League and has participated in United States Swimming Competitions.

Summer Season: April 18 – July 17. (13 Weeks)

Coach Information: Rick Simonds is the Tiger Shark Head Coach. Rick grew up as a “Y kid” who learned to swim at the Athens YMCA. He has been teaching swim lessons for over 7 years and is a nationally recognized YMCA Swim Lessons Instructor Trainer. This season he was elected as the secretary to the Carolina YMCA Swim League.

BYAC & Tiger Shark Swim Team assistants vary from season to season. A parent advisory board is in place to help guide the activities of the BYAC and Tiger Sharks.

Potential swim team participants must meet with Coach Rick  before sign-up to become oriented with the program. Season costs vary; financial aid and scholarships are available.
